Here is information about our winter workshop, January 5-7, 2024.
We're still limited by difficulties finding a venue, so we won't be able to have a face-to-face workshop this year. In some ways this is disappointing, but there are advantages, too. For one thing, it makes the workshop available to people for whom travel at this time of the year is difficult. It also allows you to experience how working online can take on an immediacy that we never anticipated. This new understanding enriches not only online teaching but also the face-to-face teaching to which many of us have begun to return. Our recent online workshops have been a great success, so once again we're offering a 3-day online Alexander Technique workshop that you'll want to come to. We'll be working on the Zoom platform, so all you need is a computer, tablet, or smart phone and a place where you can be relatively comfortable and undisturbed for a few hours Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
We hope to be back face-to-face in a brand new location next year.

About the workshop
The Three-Day Workshop
This three-day intensive course is primarily for teachers and teacher trainees in the Alexander Technique, as well as those who have attended at least 5 previous workshops. However, there is also room for those with less experience. The workshop is limited to a maximum of 24 students, so make sure to apply soon!
A new approach: Online But Not Remote
Instead of repeating the traditional workshop we offered for more than thirty years, we’ll be focusing in new ways on the energetic aspects of our understanding of Alexander’s work.
Many of us have been spending hours and hours on Zoom and suffering from the isolation and over-focusing, visual and mental, it can create. We’ve learned, however, that the Zoom platform can be a basis for creating a wonderful cohesive energy environment that transcends the limits of space and even time and fosters freedom and growth for those participating in it.
This is what we plan to explore in this workshop. It will be rooted in our Alexander practice and include the enhanced relationship with our bodies that is such an important feature of that practice. But recently we have been experiencing wonderful opening in the energetic approach that has become such an important feature of our work in the past few years. This is what we want to share with you. We’ll be learning new means for accessing potential and possibilities for meeting the challenges of our life, bringing new levels of hope in what are sometimes dark times.
Location and schedule
LocationOnline with Zoom
The course will be offered on the Zoom platform. We'll meet Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between 9 am and 1 pm PST; you can figure out the time adjustment for where you'll be. One of the advantages of the current situation is that wherever you are you'll be able to attend without the expense of transportation and lodging. Even people living in Europe and Japan may be able to join us, time zones permitting, (though the only course language will be English).
Our schedule is being revised to fit the new material we're offering. Check back here to learn more about it as it takes shape, but more to the point, trust us and join us as we find a way to do something quite new!

For Teachers and Trainees
For Teachers and Trainees
• Attendance at the course will count towards your continuing education requirements.
• Bill, Donna, Dale, and Shawn have spent a lot of time in recent years exploring energy work and its relationship with the Alexander Technique, and all but Shawn are Advanced Practitioners of Nervous System Energy Work. Donna is also trained in Reiki. We offer special workshops for teachers in this field, and this is a great opportunity to find out what our discoveries have to offer you. This perspective has led us to a radical new understanding of Alexander's discoveries, clarifying many areas of the Technique that have previously been problematic, confusing, and mystifying.
We hope to see you in January!
